Anthropologie winner announced
The Competition we promoted through Central Station for Anthropologie to Design the hoarding around their Edinburgh store closed last week. There were a ton of great entries and you could see that people really had spent hours painting, sketching and preparing their ideas - but alas their could only be one winner.
We sent everyones ideas over to Anthropologie who had the final say and chose Louise Kirby as the winner! Louise has written a post about the news on her blog.
Through the greatness of Twitter I also found a post by 2 other fellow entrants, Mabel Forsyth and Shiv Murchie who've written a lovely piece about their collaborative proposal.
Louise will be posting up photos and news from the event and of course, Central Station will be covering the progress and final outcome so stay tuned.
Now excuse whilst I cry because I can't afford this £3968.00 bed frame.

The house needs...a garden.
For most of my childhood and teenage years, I lived in a spacious out-of-town flat. It had grassy hills, countryside and rivers in the surrounding area but I always missed having a garden. A private place for the family to be together. It's made me ambitious to have a garden of my own someday.
Until then though, apart from filling my window with flowers, the idea of guerrilla gardening seems much more realistic.
If you've never heard of Guerrilla Gardening, it's basically collectives of people, taking it upon themselves to cultivate public spaces with plants and flowers. Graffiti with flowers if you will. It attracts many different types of people with different motivations for participation. Be it direct political action or just enthusiastic seed planters, guerrilla gardeners are taking over unloved pieces of public space to send their message.
check out the guerrilla gardening projects happening in Glasgow. Is this happening in Edinburgh anywhere?. If anyone knows of any collective I'd love for them to comment on what they are doing!

House inspiration: Circus Lane Mews
Todays house inspiration is a good one. A house that I LOVE and is located in Circus Lane, Edinburgh.
The mews connects a ground floor flat into the vaulted space beneath to create a two bedroom maisonette. Glazed slots and light chutes give light and ventillation to the lower spaces.

Read more about the owners and how they use the space in The Guardians article.
3D Projector Fun - Mr Beam.
Mr Bean are Mo Assem and Ruben van Esterik from the Netherlands. They work with 3D projectors to create stunning environments by turning different types of spaces into 360° projection areas. Their past work has included projects for Coca Cola and the opening of an H&M flagship store in the Netherlands.
In this amazing living room scene, they are able to take control of all colors, patterns and textures of the furniture, wallpapers and carpet and it's all done with just 2 projectors.

Spray painting update
It was apparently 23 degrees in Edinburgh yesterday. Pretty hot for a pale skinned easy burner like me! So I headed out to the workshops with Jas and continued spraying all the accessories for my new room. Here's some updated pictures.
Embroidered mac loading symbol (that I done years ago) now with Orange frame. One more coat to go I think.
I also started sanding down a mirror and will be wood staining it walnut to go with the now assembled bed frame!
I also started a tumblr. My oh my it's addictive! Loads of inspiration pictures and personal bits and pieces. Have a follow.
